In the conservatory style restaurant, candlelit at night, the ambiance is relaxed, and the service impeccable. The food is sophisticated and has been awarded three rosettes by the AA each year since 1997. Beef, lamb, venison and game are sourced locally and fish and shellfish are delivered from Aberdeen and the west coast. In 1997, Darroch Learg was the first in Scotland to win AA "Wine List of the Year". The Top 100 UK Restaurant Wine Lists book (published September 2006) scores Darroch Learg's wine list as the best in Scotland and Number 13 in the UK.

Chef Daniel Hall received an Acorn Award in 2001 at the age of 26 and was a gold medalist for the Compass culinary team. His former rôles have included Head Chef on the Royal Scotsman Train and at Nick Nairn's restaurant.
