Push the boat out in Lochgilphead
There’s no finer time than summer to admire the wild and beautiful scenery of Scotland’s west coast. Mild weather, clear skies and endless, shining waters, just waiting to be explored.
Treat yourself to a night or two at the Crinan Hotel in Lochgilphead, where you can enjoy the sweeping panoramas of Argyll’s rugged coastline in comfort. Superior rooms with a balcony are available this summer from £275 per night, with breakfast.
During your stay, be sure to book a trip over the water on the fully restored, classic motorboat Sgarbh (that’s Gaelic for cormorant) – it’s moored right outside the hotel, overlooking the Crinan Canal.
Plan a full or half-day trip, setting off from Loch Crinan. You’ll visit and pass local islands and enjoy lunch on board or ashore.
Or, if you fancy a longer trip, embark on an island-hopping excursion. Sailing for longer than a full day, you’ll stop off at various islands, staying in local hotels. This can incorporate local malt whisky distilleries like Oban, Jura and the Islay malts.
Plan your adventure and charter a boat here.
