The village of Crinan in Mid Argyll became the playground for more than 50 classic boats on the 3rd of July. Wooden yachts, large and small, sailed and motored through the canal to take part in the second Crinan Classic Boat festival.
The four-day festival began on Thursday with boats racing and competing in various types of sail and motor classes.
As well as the racing, there was also a host of activities to keep the spectators entertained. Whisky tasting, live music and ceilidhs made sure everyone had an enjoyable time.Saturday also proved popular with visitors as the annual, and very successful, Crinan Classic Highland games took place.
There was also a selection of exhibitors taking part in the festival including, the Crichton Carbon Centre from Dumfries, GalGael and local company A+R Way Boat Builders.
Supporters for the 2008 Crinan Classic Boat festival included, the Crinan Hotel, Tunnocks, Classic Boat and Scottish Field magazines, the 'Instakilt' from Thistle products, The Crown Estate and Bruichladdich Whisky.
