Golf

An 18 hole golf course is located in the picturesque tourist town of Peebles - 7 miles from Stobo Castle.

The staff at Stobo are on hand to arrange your golfing requirements, just let them know either at the time of booking or when you arrive.

Leisure Activities

If you'd like the opportunity to improve your fitness, there's no better place to be. Whatever shape you're in, you'll find a choice of enjoyable and exhilarating activities which give you the perfect opportunity to try out something new.

Stobo's stunning 25m ozone-treated pool is a delightful setting for a swim or aqua aerobics class. A fully equipped gymnasium and brand new hydrospa are also available. Or you could take part in a variety of exercise, dance, movement and relaxation classes.

Sight Seeing / Attractions

Stobo is fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland - majestic hills, tumbling burns, towering pine forests and a quality of air so pure you can almost taste it. Nor do you need to go very far to experience the beauties of nature. Close by the Castle lie the magnificent Japanese Water Gardens, where cascading water, lush plant life and classic Oriental landscaping combine to create an overwhelming sense of peace.

Outdoor pursuits are very much part of the Stobo experience. Take part in a guided walk, or use the complimentary mountain bikes and explore further afield. Stobo has their own tennis court, while golf, riding and fishing can easily be arranged locally.

Shopping

The Stobo Spa Shop stocks a complete range of beauty products including Thalgo, Phytomer and Darphin, together with gift ideas and leisurewear.

The picturesque tourist town of Peebles is just 7 miles from Stobo - there you will find a variety of knitwear and souvenir shops and cafes.

Dining

Each menu at Stobo offer superb quality and choice satisfying even the heartiest appetite. A wealth of local produce is used including salmon and trout, quality beef, game, lamb and venison as well as the freshest of vegetables and fruit.

Meals are not only delicious, they're also nutritious with the emphasis on low-fat, healthy eating. Start the day with a filling breakfast to give you energy for the morning's activities. Lunch is a buffet in the dining room where you can help yourself to a fantastic choice of salads, eat and fish. Dinner is truly an occasion to look forward to, with a variety of tempting dishes on offer and wine to accompany your meal should you wish.

Transport

Getting to Stobo Castle is easy. Peebles is a 15 minute drive away and the nearest rail station and airport are in Edinburgh approximately 25 miles from Stobo. Glasgow is a 75 minute car journey away and also has an airport and rail links. Guests can be met in either Edinburgh or Glasgow by prior arrangement.

Meetings & Events

Stobo can cater for small meetings or mini conferences, usually with an overnight stay included in the package. Grovewood, the dedicated conference/meeting room is available for up to 25 delegates.

Park Lodge, a separate accommodation block linked to the main castle by an undercover walkway, is ideal for small parties or team-building events, providing unlimited use of Stobo's state-of-the-art facilities with the added privacy of your own lodge.

Arrivals & Departures

Check-in time at Stobo is as close to 2.30pm as possible and guests are asked to check out their room by 12 noon, however lunch is included in the packages prior to departure.

FAQs incl. Dress Codes, Dietary Requirements

The dress code at Stobo is very informal with the bathrobes provided perfectly acceptable at all times during the day and smart but casual clothing worn at dinner.

Our experienced Kitchen staff are more than happy to cater for any dietary requirements - please inform the Reservations staff when making your booking.
