Golf can be enjoyed on a wide variety of local courses including Cruden Bay, Murcar Golf Club and Royal Aberdeen Golf Club. The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa can arrange golf at Royal Aberdeen and Cruden bay for its guests.

Leisure Activities

The finest hunting, shooting and fishing in Scotland can be arranged at short notice through agents on Deeside and elsewhere. Salmon and trout fishing can be arranged on more than 20 beats on the River Dee and the River Don.

Sight Seeing / Attractions

Aberdeen is the gateway to Royal Deeside.There are more castles per square mile in this part of Scotland than anywhere else in Britain. Balmoral Castle, Crathes and Dunnottar Castle are good examples. There are also many distilleries in this part of Scotland,, You can find the world's only Malt Whisky Trail in Moray, a route taking in 8 malt whisky distilleries and a cooperage

There is a wide range of shopping in Aberdeen, just 10 minutes away.

The Conservatory Restaurant is one of the finest restaurants in the region where comfort and luxury to culinary detail can be found. Weather permitting, you can choose to dine on the patio. The wine cellar holds over 400 wines and the Drawing Room bar is stocked with over 100 malt whiskies

Driving Instructions

From the North:
Ellon-Aberdeen Road, coming into Aberdeen on King Street carry on to Union Street. At the last set of traffic lights at the bottom of Union Street , bear left onto Holburn Street. At the next set of traffic lights turn right onto Great Western Road and continue on this road through several sets of traffic lights till you are on North Deeside Road . With the BP Petrol Station on your left, continue through next set of traffic lights. Half a mile further, large entrance and signs on your right - Marcliffe at Pitfodels.

From the South:
Take the main dual carriageway (A90) from Perth/Dundee. Approaching the roundabout at the Bridge of Dee continue across the bridge and proceed straight across the roundabout on the other side of the bridge on the A90 following signs for the Airport. Straight ahead at the next roundabout to the first set of traffic lights . Turn left onto Great Western Road and continue along this road to the next set of traffic lights . Half a mile further, large entrance and signs on your right - Marcliffe at Pitfodels.

From the West:
Approaching City on A93 from Royal Deeside/Banchory, proceed through the suburban areas of Peterculter, Milltimber, Bieldside and Cults. With the Cults Hotel on your left proceed a further half mile. Large entrance and signs on your left - Marcliffe at Pitfodels.

The hotel offers a wide choice of 6 private banqueting and conference rooms. These beautiful individually decorated suites are perfect for cocktail parties, private luncheons and dinners, receptions, board meetings and weddings for any number from two to four hundred. The gardens and grounds are ideal for outdoor weddings, for both the ceremony and reception, in addition to barbecues, garden parties and musical events.

Dress Codes

We would prefer that guests did not wear jeans and trainers in the Restaurant in the evenings, but otherwise we want you to be comfortable and relaxed when you are staying with us. We encourage a smart casual dress code.
