Nestled in a 28 acres of woodland and gardens on the sloping hills of the Scottish Borders near Edinburgh, Cringletie House is a luxurious, and comfortable small country house hotel and restaurant.

Cringletie is a very special romantic castle style baronial mansion set in Scotland's Border region near Peebles where sheep outnumber humans! Cringletie House dates back to 1861 and Cringletie’s Walled Garden goes back as far as 1661, when the first Cringletie House was built.

Less than 18 miles from Edinburgh and surrounded by some of Scotland’s favourite walks and historic sites, Cringletie is ideal for a romantic weekend hotel break or a leisurely midweek short stay.

We are extremely pleased that the AA has recognised and awarded Cringletie House with four red stars. The red stars stand for the best quality hotels in the UK and Ireland. There are less than 100 hotels outside London who have achieved this coveted Inspector's Choice award.

We are proud to be a preferred supplier to the highly acclaimed American based Virtuoso network of high end travel agents.

Last but by no means least; the Andrew Harper Alliance is again an American based agency that features only top hotels all over the world. No wonder that we were chuffed beyond belief when the Alliance awarded Cringletie House with the 2008 Gold Award.

We also have special facilities for disabled persons. We welcome well behaved dogs, and have two rooms where dogs can be accommodated.
